Irvington never let their opponents score on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Newark Memorial Cougars 30-0. The Vikings were shut out 14-0 the last time they took on the Cougars, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

A big part of Irvington's win came down to the chemistry between Vivaan Tiwari and his top target Gabrial Aruwah. Tiwari threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes while Aruwah picked up 86 receiving yards and one TD. Tiwari's passing game has become a key predictor of Irvington's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Irvington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tommy Chang led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Irvington's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Newark Memorial, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
