Basketball Recap: Rittman Comes Up Short

Rittman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Norwayne Bobcats, falling 53-8. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while the Bobcats are ranked 121st).

Leading Norwayne to victory were Allie Demassimo and Kendra Berger. Demassimo went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points, while Berger went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points. Thanks to that strong game, Berger now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Froelich, who posted four points and five steals.

Rittman's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Norwayne, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Rittman will venture away from home to face off against Garrett Morgan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Norwayne, they will host Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Norwayne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
