Baseball Recap: New Brockton Comes Up Short

New Brockton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Eufaula on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3.

Griffin Wood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, New Brockton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton McLaughlin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

New Brockton has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. Eufaula's win bumped their record up to 6-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Brockton will venture away from home to take on Houston Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eufaula, they will head out to challenge Beauregard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
