Basketball Game Preview: Ascend Leadership Aviators vs. West Brunswick Trojans

Having just played yesterday, the Ascend Leadership Aviators will jump right back in to play the West Brunswick Trojans at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ascend Leadership's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ascend Leadership's tournament run continued when they took on Lee County on Friday. Ascend Leadership had to suffer through a 53-12 loss at the hands of Lee County.

Meanwhile, West Brunswick can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They wrapped up 2024 with a 56-39 win over Western Harnett. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Eagles are ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ascend Leadership's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
