Soccer Game Preview: East Henderson vs. Polk County

The East Henderson Eagles will head out to take on the Polk County Wolverines at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Henderson is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Erwin a 4-0 shutout last Thursday.

East Henderson hit Erwin with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maddie Carver (2), Jenni Interiano Nunez, and Cheyenne Byrd.

Meanwhile, Polk County came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0. Give Polk County's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Polk County used a slightly different lineup for their bout with R-S Central. Hurley Bell played for 75 minutes having averaged 53.8 this season and Reeve Carroll got 80 vs. an average of 58.3. Carroll made the most of the opportunity, scoring two goals A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

East Henderson's win bumped their record up to 2-3-2. As for Polk County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
