Football Recap: Fossil Ridge Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Fossil Ridge had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Loveland Red Wolves by a score of 17-14. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the SaberCats couldn't quite close it out.

Loveland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Gebhardt, who rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 15 carries. The Red Wolves also relied on Gebhardt, who's 53-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game. Another rusher making a difference was Deon Christopher, who rushed for 95 yards and one TD.

The victory got Loveland back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will face off against Rock Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Loveland, they will challenge Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
