Softball Recap: Shelbyville Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Shelbyville dropped their record down to 17-12 on Saturday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Center Grove Trojans, falling 12-0. The shutout was out of character for the Golden Bears seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Shelbyville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reagan Dillon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

As for Center Grove, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 21-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.

On Center Grove's side, they got a great performance from Kara Biever as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Biever has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, Sydney Herrmann was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Taylor Barrett also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Looking ahead, Shelbyville will host Indian Creek at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Center Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
