Bartlett hasn't had much luck against Auburn recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Indians will welcome the Rockets at 3:30 p.m. Bartlett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Bartlett needed a bit of extra time to put away Tantasqua Regional. They won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since June 2, 2024.
Brayden Greene looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Sebastyanski and Adam Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Sebastyanski got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, while Phillips went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Sebastyanski is becoming a predictor of Bartlett's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luigi Villegas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Bartlett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Auburn faced Uxbridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Rockets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-3. The loss was the Rockets' first of the season.
Cameron McLaughlin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Bartlett's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Auburn, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bartlett has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Auburn struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
