Basketball Recap: Big Valley Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Titus Boone and Titus Beers

Big Valley Christian and Argonaut squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Big Valley Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Argonaut Mustangs, falling 73-52. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-24.

Despite the defeat, Big Valley Christian had strong showings from Titus Beers, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards, and Titus Boone, who posted 14 points and three steals. Blake Nelson was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Big Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. They pulled down seven more offensive rebounds than Argonaut's also-impressive total of ten.

Mitchell Mcmahan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds for Argonaut. Mcmahan has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was JJ Lungren, who earned 11 points and six assists.

Big Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Argonaut, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

Big Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Argonaut, they will take on Fortune Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fortune Early College comes in on eight and Argonaut on five.
