Basketball Game Preview: Interlachen Rams vs. Baldwin Indians

The Interlachen Rams will challenge the Baldwin Indians on Monday. Interlachen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.

On Friday, Interlachen lost to Saint Francis Catholic at home by a 69-54 margin.

Despite their defeat, Interlachen saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kemontae Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Nixon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games he's played. Dante Astin was another key player, putting up eight points along with 14 rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Interlachen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Baldwin had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 52-43 win over Stanton on Thursday.

Interlachen has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Baldwin, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.

Everything came up roses for Interlachen against Baldwin in their previous matchup back in January of 2018, as the team secured a 59-30 win. In that game, Interlachen amassed a halftime lead of 33-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
