Basketball Recap: Wilcox-Hildreth Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

On Friday, the Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons strolled past the Mullen Broncos with points to spare, taking the game 40-21.

Madison Bunger continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Bunger, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Mullen's loss came despite strong showings from Hayley Donohoe and Jenna Donohoe. Hayley posted eight points and five rebounds, while Jenna scored eight points. Hayley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Brynne McCully was another key player, putting up three points and three steals.

Wilcox-Hildreth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points on average over those games. Mullen moved to 19-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Wilcox-Hildreth will face off against Shelton at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Shelton will roll in looking for their 26th straight win, something Wilcox-Hildreth surely won't give up without a fight. Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
