Softball Recap: Midland Timberwolves vs. Lexington Minutemen
Monday just wasn't the day for Midland's offense. They came up short against the Lexington Minutemen on Monday, falling 17-0. The Timberwolves haven't had much luck with the Minutemen recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Midland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Franks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Cheyenne Wildey also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Midland's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lexington, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midland will head out to square off against Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lexington, they will take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bloomington Central Catholic will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lexington surely won't give up without a fight.
