Basketball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cardinal Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragons have suffered since January 20, 2024.

Lakeside's record is now 2-17. As for Cardinal, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.

Looking ahead, Lakeside will venture away from home to square off against Ellet at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Cardinal, they will host Andrews Osborne Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Cardinal's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Andrews Osborne Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
