Recap: Randolph Southern Rebels vs. Wapahani Raiders
Even though the Randolph Southern Rebels have not done well against the Wapahani Raiders recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Randolph Southern secured a 49-43 W over Wapahani. The win was nothing new for Randolph Southern as they're now sitting on four straight.
Randolph Southern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haileigh Allen led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least 25% of Randolph Southern's points. Bree Smith was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Wapahani's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emily Luce, who scored 8 points along with 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Luce has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Felder, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Randolph Southern's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Wapahani, they have yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 6-2 record.
Randolph Southern will take on Tri at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Tri is ranked 109th, while Randolph Southern is ranked 95th). As for Wapahani, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorktown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Yorktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
