Baseball Recap: Mccreary Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

McCreary Central waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Somerset Christian Cougars a 12-0 shutout. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Kase Spradlin looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kolton Summers, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Losey, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

McCreary Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .517 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

McCreary Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Somerset Christian, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

McCreary Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
