Basketball Recap: Houghton Academy Starts Season with Win Against Hammondsport

Houghton Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the Hammondsport Lakers by a score of 42-35. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 54-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hammondsport dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Houghton Academy will face off against Fillmore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hammondsport, they will be home for the holidays to greet Arkport Central at 7:15 p.m. on December 17th.
