Basketball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Scott last Friday, Perry-Lecompton came back down to earth. The Perry-Lecompton Kaws fell to the Holton Wildcats 50-44. The game marked the Kaws' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Holton's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Peek, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points. Korben Fox was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Perry-Lecompton's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Holton, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry-Lecompton will take on Riley County in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rossville at 7:30 p.m. Rossville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Holton likes a good challenge.
