Football Game Preview: California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs vs. Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles

The California School for the Deaf-Riverside Cubs are taking a road trip to take on the Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: California School for the Deaf-Riverside extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Cubs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hesperia Christian 64-6. The Cubs pushed the score to 56-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots had no chance of recovering from.

Morgan Hawkins produced another solid effort picking up 106 receiving yards and two TDs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Model Secondary School for the Deaf). They blew past Girard College, posting a 38-6 win. The Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 48-0).

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
