Basketball Recap: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson]

There's no place like home for the Chillicothe Hornets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-35 win over Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson] on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chillicothe to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Mathew, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Mathew hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Jaishon White was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Chillicothe is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson], their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Chillicothe won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Kauffman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Hornets are ranked 88th).
