Softball Recap: New Braunfels' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

New Braunfels had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jones Trojans a 4-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Unicorns have won by exactly four runs.

Addison Barbosa looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabel Cruz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Myer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

New Braunfels' victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

New Braunfels wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against London on the 20th. As for Jones, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 loss against Paetow on the 20th.
