Recap: Elmore County Panthers vs. Chilton County Tigers
The Elmore County Panthers lost against the Chilton County Tigers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Elmore County ended up on the wrong side of a tough 59-36 walloping at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, Elmore County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Tigers are ranked 126th).
Chilton County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyeshia Williams out in front who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and eight assists. Williams is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Iasia Anderson was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, nine assists, and 11 steals.
Elmore County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Chilton County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-9.
Elmore County will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chilton County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. One thing working in Prattville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
