Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Illiana Christian

Illiana Christian came out on top against Hanover Central on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Vikings walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Wildcats. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cayden Petersen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lydia VanderWoude, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Emmy Jansma, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
