Softball Preview: Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors vs. Atlantic City Vikings
The Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors will take on the Atlantic City Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Camden County Vo-Tech barely beat LEAP Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors never let the Lancers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory last Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.
Meanwhile, Atlantic City can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Wildwood Catholic as they made off with an 11-0 victory.
Nelly Sosa was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Atlantic City got a big performance out of Alaina Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Kayla Barrie, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Atlantic City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wildwood Catholic only posted an OBP of .286.
Camden County Vo-Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Atlantic City, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-8.
