Baseball Recap: Enumclaw Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Enumclaw barely beat Beamer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Titans an 18-0 shutout on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Enumclaw got a great performance from Paxton Patterson as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Patterson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Enumclaw let Juden Jones and Drew Francis run wild. Jones went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Francis went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Wall, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Enumclaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Enumclaw's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Beamer, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Enumclaw will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
