Baseball Game Preview: Palmetto Christian Academy vs. First Baptist School Hurricanes

Palmetto Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against First Baptist School recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Palmetto Christian Academy will face off against the First Baptist School Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. Palmetto Christian Academy has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Palmetto Christian Academy's offense. They came up short against First Baptist School on Thursday, falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, Palmetto Christian Academy's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ryan Delaney was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Delaney was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.

The win (which was First Baptist School's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
