Basketball Game Preview: Hagerman Bobcats vs. Tularosa Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hagerman Bobcats face off against the Tularosa Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Hagerman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Back in December of 2024, Hagerman escaped with a win against Grady by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36.

Meanwhile, Tularosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 51-25 to Magdalena. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Steers are ranked 35th).

Hagerman pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Tularosa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Hagerman was taken down by Tularosa 69-25 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hagerman was down 43-11.
