Basketball Game Preview: Logansport Berries vs. Western Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Logansport Berries will get right back to it and host the Western Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Logansport is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Kokomo on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Logansport took a blow against Kokomo, falling 66-24. The Berries were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-16.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western). They came out on top against University by a score of 64-56 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Logansport better focus on containing Ellyse Walden and Ella Rawlings as the pair were huge in Western's win. Walden dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Rawlings went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhiana Bowman, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Western's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Logansport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.

Everything came up roses for Logansport against Western when the teams last played back in December of 2016, as the squad secured a 58-24 win. Will Logansport repeat their success, or does Western have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
