That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Britton Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Colorado Springs Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for St. Mary's, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Colorado Springs Christian by a score of 17-0 later that day.
