Soccer Recap: Hancock Comes Up Short

Hancock lost against George County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hancock Hawks lost 4-1 to the George County Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Rebels are ranked 20th).

Hancock's goal came courtesy of Sam Powell, who's now up to eight this season.

Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for George County, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West Harrison the next time they take the pitch. Hancock will host West Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while George County will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
