Basketball Game Preview: Granville Blue Aces vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets

The Granville Blue Aces will square off against the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Granville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Tuesday, Granville earned a 56-47 victory over Northridge. Given the Blue Aces' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Vikings are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mt. Vernon suffered their biggest loss since February 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Newark Catholic, falling 61-41.

Granville pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
