Volleyball Recap: Sweeny Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Sweeny, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the La Marque Cougars on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-0 victory back in September.

Sweeny was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-18.

Belle Seibert paced Sweeny's offense, picking up 18 kills. Seibert got some help from Stevie Brown and her 32 assists. Hannah Forshee controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Sweeny is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-9 record this season. As for La Marque, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-24.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Sweeny and Sinton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Marque does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
