Softball Preview: Payton College Prep Grizzlies vs. Trinity Blazers
The Payton College Prep Grizzlies will face off against the Trinity Blazers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Payton College Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Payton College Prep made easy work of Elmwood Park and carried off a 13-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
Jacqueline Madda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Madda was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matches.

Payton College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elmwood Park only posted an OBP of .343.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Trinity was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They lost 16-1 to Aurora Central Catholic. The Blazers haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Payton College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
