Basketball Game Preview: Millard West Wildcats vs. Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks

Two dominant guards in Reece Carson and Uzziah Sanders are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Millard West Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Millard West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.

Millard West is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 63-39 to Bellevue West. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Millard West saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cade Walker went 7 of 11 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln Southwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Creighton Prep 79-77.

Millard West's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Millard West couldn't quite finish off Lincoln Southwest in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 57-55. Can Millard West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
