Basketball Recap: Parrish Community's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After soaring to 59 points the game before, Parrish Community was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. Their2024 ended with a 39-25 loss against the Newsome Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Wolves are ranked 80th).

Parrish Community lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dudache Belony, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taye Green, who put up seven points.

Even though they lost, Parrish Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Parrish Community moved to 8-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Newsome, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Parrish Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-31 loss against Buford on the 30th. As for Newsome, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-53 defeat against Covington Catholic on the 30th.
