Soccer Game Preview: Catawba Ridge vs. South Point

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads will head out to take on the South Point Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Catawba Ridge's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Rock Hill as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Catawba Ridge's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Rock Hill are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, South Point entered their tilt with Stuart W. Cramer on Tuesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Storm. South Point's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

South Point's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Catawba Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
