Basketball Recap: Northside Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Northside duked it out withHouston Math Science & Tech on Tuesday. The Northside Panthers fell just short of the Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers by a score of 30-27. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Leading Houston Math Science & Tech to victory were David Vasquez and Jeremy Dickson. Vasquez went 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds, while Dickson posted six points and ten rebounds. That's the most rebounds Dickson has posted since back in November of 2024.

Northside's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Houston Math Science & Tech, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13.

Northside will venture away from home to square off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. Washington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.6 points per game this season. As for Houston Math Science & Tech, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-43 win against Scarborough on the 3rd.
