Ysleta has gone a perfect 5-0 against Irvin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Ysleta is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Ysleta came out on top against Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Indians were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Warriors. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Savannah Jurado was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ivana Zuniga, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Irvin hadn't done well against Austin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rockets walked away with a 10-7 win over the Panthers.
Cassandra Cardiel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Heaven Rey, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Andrea Orrantia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Irvin lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Ysleta's victory bumped their record up to 18-13. As for Irvin, their win bumped their record up to 5-20.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ysleta has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .503. However, it's not like Irvin struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Ysleta's way against Irvin when the teams last played back in March, as Ysleta made off with a 20-2 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
