Basketball Recap: Synergy Magnet K12 Comes Up Short

Synergy Magnet K12 was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 52-45 to the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers. The Saints lost against the Hustlers in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-24 score last time.

Melbourne Central Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Henry Lane led the charge by going 8 for 17 on his way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Lane a new career-high. Tristan Hamilton was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Synergy Magnet K12's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Synergy Magnet K12 will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Pineapple Cove Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Melbourne Central Catholic has already played their next contest, a 62-24 victory against Merritt Island Christian on the 9th.
