Soccer Game Preview: Dimond vs. Service

Dimond is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Service is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lynx will host the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dimond is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Chugiak, who was ranked seventh at the time (Dimond was ranked second). The Lynx were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The score was close at halftime, but Dimond pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Meanwhile, West Anchorage kept up with Service until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Cougars never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Give Service's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 14-1-1. As for Service, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2.
