Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Diego Cardinals vs. Nordhoff Rangers

The Bishop Diego Cardinals will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Nordhoff Rangers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Bishop Diego is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They lost 18-0 to Santa Ynez on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Meanwhile, Nordhoff fell victim to Santa Ynez and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Rangers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nordhoff saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Everything went Bishop Diego's way against Nordhoff in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, as Bishop Diego made off with a 15-4 win. Will Bishop Diego repeat their success, or does Nordhoff have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
