Fremd is 9-1 against Lake Zurich since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Fremd is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Fremd is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Conant.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fremd took both sets by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Lake Zurich sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Wheeling on Tuesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lake Zurich had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 27-25, 25-13.

Fremd better focus on containing Malia McManus and Ella Elsen as the pair were huge in Lake Zurich's win. McManus had 11 digs and two aces, while Elsen had 18 assists. That's the most assists Elsen has posted over her last nine contests. Ava Chavez also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lake Zurich's victory bumped their record up to 19-14. As for Fremd, their win bumped their record up to 27-7.

Fremd was able to grind out a solid victory over Lake Zurich in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-0. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
