Basketball Game Preview: George Washington Patriots vs. Northfield Nighthawks

The George Washington Patriots will face off against the Northfield Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. George Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Northfield likes a good challenge.

George Washington is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 10, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Denver East 65-62.

George Washington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Dotson, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 16 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Trimm, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Northfield faced Rangeview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Northfield had to suffer through a 88-59 loss at the hands of Rangeview. The Nighthawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Northfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for George Washington, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
