Basketball Game Preview: Key West Conchs vs. Coral Shores Hurricanes

The Key West Conchs and the Coral Shores Hurricanes will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Key West knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Coral Shores likes a good challenge.

Key West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 84-77 victory over Manatee on Saturday.

James Osborne was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Roberts, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three steals.

Key West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Coral Shores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 71-17 defeat at the hands of Goleman. The game marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Key West is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Coral Shores, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Key West beat Coral Shores 60-49 when the teams last played back in January. Does Key West have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coral Shores turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
