Soccer Game Preview: Catholic vs. Norfolk Collegiate

The Catholic Crusaders will challenge the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Catholic has five straight victories, Norfolk Collegiate has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Thursday, Catholic beat Manteo 4-2.

Meanwhile, Norfolk Collegiate didn't have quite enough to beat Walsingham Academy on Thursday and fell 4-3. While losing is never fun, Norfolk Collegiate can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Walsingham Academy are ranked 88th).

Norfolk Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.

Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Norfolk Collegiate in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mighty Oaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
