Basketball Recap: Greenbrier Bobcats vs. White House Blue Devils
The Greenbrier Bobcats were the 66-57 winner over the White House Blue Devils when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Greenbrier fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Greenbrier lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Nolan Carson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. Carson is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Travarius Flood, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
White House got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Worrell out in front who scored 16 points along with eight assists and two steals. Worrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Louis Taylor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Greenbrier has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for White House, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Greenbrier will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Robertson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Bobcats like a good challenge. As for White House, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Station Camp is ranked 104th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 127th).
