Preview: Grand Meadow Superlarks vs. Houston Hurricanes

The Grand Meadow Superlarks will head out on the road to take on the Houston Hurricanes at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Meadow has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.

Last Monday, Grand Meadow suffered a rough 65-41 defeat at the hands of the Cougars. Grand Meadow has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Houston had to suffer through a rough 80-41 loss at the hands of the Rebels. While losing is never fun, Houston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Rebels are ranked 137th).

Despite their defeat, Houston saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Morgan Rohweder, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Wedl, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Grand Meadow dropped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Houston, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

Grand Meadow took a serious blow against the Hurricanes in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 75-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rohweder, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. Now that Grand Meadow knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
