Basketball Recap: Elkhorn Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Elkhorn extended their home winning streak to six games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Jake Petersen. The Elkhorn Antlers pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over the Hastings Tigers on Saturday thanks in part to Petersen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (five).

Elkhorn has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Hastings, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Elkhorn will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wahoo at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Hastings, they will venture away from home to face off against Blair at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
