Preview: Louisburg Wildcats vs. Chanute Blue Comets
The Louisburg Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chanute Blue Comets on Thursday. Chanute took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Louisburg, who comes in off a win.
Louisburg's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool by a score of 49-41. Louisburg's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Chanute's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 44-31 to Independence.
Louisburg's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Chanute, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Louisburg was able to grind out a solid win over Chanute when the teams last played back in March of 2023, winning 51-39. Will Louisburg repeat their success, or does Chanute have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
