Basketball Recap: Kongiganak Comes Up Short

Kongiganak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat Seahawks 75-44. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kongiganak still got an impressive performance from Gracelyn Miller, who posted 23 points. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Carol Phillip was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dana Roberts, who scored 27 points. The dominant performance gave Roberts a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rehana Matthew, who earned 25 points.

Kongiganak's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Kongiganak has already played their next matchup, a 27-0 win against Chief Paul Memorial on the 14th. Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
