Basketball Recap: Texas City Takes a Loss

Texas City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 63-40 to the Angleton Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Stingarees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1270th, while the Wildcats are ranked 521st).

Despite the defeat, Texas City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Vasia Farris posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhyria Evans, who had 12 points and four steals.

Texas City's loss dropped their record down to 4-23. As for Angleton, they moved to 18-13 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

As of now, neither Texas City nor Angleton have any future games scheduled.
